Coach May had this to say "Look at his rsum WOW !!!!, Derek is a veteran that knows what it takes to win at the senior level. This signing is one of the best we have ever had. You can't get that experience without playing. I talked to Gary about Derek signing and he asked if they could play an inning or two together in the Infield and I said that sounds like a great idea." Gary played an inning at second base last year with the Dodgers to make it 6 decades he has played Baseball. "He made a sweet play at second to end the inning," says May.
Coach Gary Minacs had this to say when Derek signed his playing certificate, "It will be a thrill to see my son play for the Dodgers. I can't wait until we get to play together in the same infield this year. What more could a father ask for."
