In Guelph, Mel Melehes and Brian Dikdan tossed back-to-back shutouts to help the Royals to 2-0 and 3-0 wins over the Oshawa Dodgers on Monday.

Melehes (2-0) struck out seven batters and walked one while allowing eight hits in the opener.

Trevor Churchill had three hits, including a pair of doubles, and drove in a run for Guelph.

Kevin Wallace (0-1) went four innings, giving up two runs and three hits while striking out two batters and walking four.

Dikdan (1-0) struck out four batters and allowed three hits in the second game.

Mark Brohman stroked a two-run single in the first inning and Rob Dinwoodie had a pair of hits and scored a run in the win.

Matt Tosoni (0-1) surrenderd three runs and seven hits in a four-inning start.

In London, Rob Butler had five hits during the day to help the Toronto Maple Leafs win both ends of a Victoria Day doubleheader against the Majors.

Butler had three hits and Mike Grieve was three-for-five with a double and three RBI to pace Toronto to a 15-3 win in the opener.

Mark Eccleton (2-0) went the distance on the mound for Toronto, allowing three runs and nine hits while Troy Kiesling (0-2) gave up six runs - five earned - and seven hits in three innings.

Butler added a pair of hits and Damon Topolie homered to give Toronto a 5-3 win in the second game. The Maple Leafs scored the winning run on an infield error in the fourth inning.

Hans Schnell (1-0) worked six innings, giving up two runs while striking out three batters and David Hatch allowed one run in the seventh before picking up the save.

Rob Robinson (0-1) allowed five runs and eight hits in three innings.
