Barrie Baycats 10, Waterloo Tigers 2

In Barrie, Jordan Lundberg had two hits, including a two-run double that brought home the winning run in the first inning, to help the Baycats to a 10-2 win over the Waterloo Tigers.

Jordan Neufeld (1-0) allowed one hit - a third inning single to Brad Earle - and one earned run in 7 2/3 innings.

Jared McCord had three hits, scored twice and drove in two runs and James Foster added three hits and scored twice in the win.

Chad Hyatt (0-2) allowed nine runs - one unearned - and 10 hits in a four-inning start.

Guelph Royals 7, St. Thomas Storm 1

In Guelph, Kevin Hinton blasted a three-run home run in the fifth inning to power the Royals to a 7-1 win over the St. Thomas Storm.

Nathan Tami (1-0) held St. Thomas to one run and three hits while striking out six batters in six innings. Nathan Grant added a pair of hits and drove in a run in the win.

Starter Kyle Stark (0-3) allowed six runs on four hits and walked eight batters in 4 1/3 innings. Jay Greeves was two-for-three for St. Thomas.

In Oshawa, Darryl Reid singled home the game-winning run in the eighth inning to help the Dodgers to a 5-4 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Jeff Tobin, who had two hits in the game, and Al Stevens also drove in runs to take advantage of three Toronto errors in the eighth inning.

Chad Stone (3-0) worked 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief of starter Ryan Balan, who allowed five runs and nine hits in 7 2/3 innings.

Rob Bland (0-1) gave up three unearned runs and two hits in one inning of relief. Tyler Johnston had three hits and scored a run for Toronto and Rob Butler had two hits and an RBI.
