Derek McDaid pitched the first no-hitter in Barrie history to give the Baycats a 12-0 win and sweep of a doubleheader against the St. Thomas Storm on Saturday.
McDaid (1-1) struck out six batters and walked one in the historic start. Andrew Sorochan had three hits, including a third-inning home run, and drove in four runs in the win.
Cory Wilkins (0-1) allowed seven runs and nine hits in three innings.
Arman Sidhu had a pair of hits and drove in a run to help the Baycats to an 8-0 win in the first game.
Brad Bissell (2-1) threw a complete-game shutout, giving up four hits and striking out 11 batters and Kyle Stark (0-4) took the loss for St. Thomas after giving up eight runs and five hits in four innings.

In Guelph, Mel Melehes threw a complete-game six-hit shutout to back the Royals to a 2-0 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Melehes (4-0) struck out seven batters and didn't allow a walk in the win.
Trevor Churchill had two hits and drove in the winning run in the third inning and Dave Teboekhorst added a solo home run in the seventh.
Matt Kniginyzky (0-1) allowed two runs and six hits in the loss and reliever John Chadwick pitched a scoreless inning of relief. Kevin Foley had a pair of hits for Toronto.

Brad Hogeterp (2-1) gave up three runs and 10 hits and struck out 15 batters in the loss.
Jason Gotwalt blasted a three-run home run with two out in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Red Sox to a 5-4 win over Kitchener in the second game.
Mike McFadden (1-1) picked up the win with a scoreless inning of relief of starter Stefan Strecker, who allowed four runs and eight hits in six innings.
Reliever Joel Scott (0-1) gave up the homerun and took the loss. Andy Pietraszko had a pair of doubles and scored a run for Kitchener.
