Oshawa Dodgers 6, Guelph Royals 5

In Oshawa, Pat Tobin drove in the winning run in the eighth inning to help the Dodgers to a 6-5 win over the Guelph Royals in the Intercounty baseball League on Wednesday.

Ken Calway had a pair of hits, including a two-run double in the sixth inning, and Phil Stone added an RBI single in the win.

Chad Stone (4-0) gave up three unearned runs and two hits in 1 2/3 innings of relief and Steve Butterworth pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his first save.

Nathan Tami (1-1) allowed one run and one hit in one inning of relief for starter Ryan Armstrong, who gave up five runs - one unearned - in five innings.

Kitchener Panthers 8, London Majors 1

In London, Harpreet Padda had a pair of doubles and drove in a run to help the Kitchener Panthers to an 8-1 win over the Majors.

Adam Hornostaj (2-1) pitched the complete game for Kitchener, giving up one run and seven hits while striking out five batters and walking four.

London starter Greg Goss (0-1) gave up a pair of runs in 4 1/3 innings and Kevin MacDonald had two hits including a solo home run in the fifth inning.

Rowan Anderson had three hits, including a double, and drove in two runs and Brian Carter added a double and two RBI for Kitchener.

Brantford Red Sox 19, St. Thomas Storm 6

In Brantford, Eric Wolfe scored five runs, including the game-winner in the fifth inning to help the Red Sox to a 19-6 win over the St. Thomas Storm.

Chris Leroux had a single, double and triple and drove in six runs for Brantford and Jason Gotwalt added two hits and an RBI.

Brett Gibson (1-2) pitched six innings, giving up six runs - one unearned - and eight hits while striking out six batters and walking one.

Aaron Owen (0-2) gave up nine runs and nine hits in 4 2/3 innings. Owen, Jay Grieves,and Roop Chanderdat each had two hits and an RBI for St. Thomas.

In Hamilton, Sean Travers had a pair of hits and drove in three runs to pace the Toronto Maple Leafs to a 12-6 win over the Cardinals.

Jon Lockwood (2-0) pitched seven scoreless innings for the win. He allowed three runs and struck out 12 batters.

Damon Topolie had three hits and Mike Koitsopoulos and Rob Patterson each added a pair of hits and an RBI in the win.

Justin Bartkiewicz (0-2) was tagged for five runs and 10 hits in three innings. Sean Reilly singled and had a two-run double that helped Hamilton score six times in the ninth inning.
