Toronto Maple Leafs 4, Brantford Red Sox 3
In Toronto, Tyler Johnstone hit a two-run triple in the second inning to help the Maple Leafs to a 4-3 win over the Brantford Red Sox in the Intercounty Baseball League on Sunday.
Rob Patterson and Kevin Foley each added RBI singles in the second inning.
Paul Spoljaric (8-0) pitched eight innings, giving up two runs and three hits while striking out eight batters and walking one. Jon Lockwood gave up a pair of hits and a run in the ninth inning before closing the game with his first save.
Stefan Strecker (3-3) worked seven innings, allowing four runs and six hits with six strikeouts and two walks.
Jesse Robertson clubbed a two-run single in the second inning for Brantford.

In Hamilton, Trevor Churchill had three hits and drove in five runs to pace the Guelph Royals to a 14-6 win over the Cardinals.
Churchill had a pair of singles and a triple and scored two runs in the win.
Mel Melehes (6-0) pitched six scoreless innings, giving up four hits and striking out 10 batters. Nathan Tami, Aaron Little and Kris Kewley each tossed an inning of relief.
Bill Lawrence (1-2) gave up two runs and seven hits in four innings and Shane Ridley drove in a pair of runs with a double in the ninth inning.

In St. Thomas, Ryan Balan singled home the winning run in the third inning to help the Oshawa Dodgers to a 6-2 win over the Storm in the first of two games on Sunday.
Steve Butterworth (2-3) was the winner after holding the Storm to a pair of runs and eight hits in seven innings and Al Stephens homered and drove in two runs for Oshawa.
Rick Ross (1-4) gave up six runs - five earned - and 10 hits in a complete game effort for St. Thomas. Kyle Stark had a pair of singles and drove in a run.
Ryan Crotin had a pair of doubles and drove in the winning run in the fifth inning to pace Oshawa to an 8-3 win in the second game.
Ryan Fraser (1-0) worked three innings for Oshawa, giving up three runs and four hits in the win. Chad Stone completed the game with a scoreless inning of relief.
Chris Gosnell (0-2) worked the complete game for St. Thomas, giving up eight runs - seven earned - and nine hits.
Junior callup Ryan Darling hit a solo home run for St. Thomas in the sixth inning.

Tom Bertic (3-1) gave up five runs and six hits in six innings and Andy Pietraszko lead off the game with a home run and scored three times in the win.
Starter Derek McDaid (1-2) allowed five runs and five hits in two innings. Armadn Sidhu had a pair of hits including a double for Barrie and scored twice.
