Brantford evens Championship Series - Game 7 on Saturday
Brantford Red Sox 3, Guelph Royals 2
In Brantford, Jason Gotwalt belted out four singles and drove in the winning run in the fifth inning to lift the Red Sox to a 3-2 win over the Guelph Royals. The win tied the Intercounty Baseball League Championship Series at three games each with the seventh and deciding game to be played in Guelph on Saturday night.
Brad Hogeterp (3-2) worked the complete game for Brantford, giving up two runs and eight hits while striking out eight batters and walking four.
Scott Hughes smacked a pair of singles and Dave Parsons singled and then scored the winning run in the fifth inning.
Ryan Armstrong (3-1) gave up three runs - two earned - and eight hits in seven innings. Kevin Hinton had a pair of hits, including a home run, for Guelph.
