Intercounty Baseball Results - Sunday May 9

Toronto Maple Leafs 3, Guelph Royals 2 (10 innings)

In Toronto, Gamin Teague belted a solo home run in the 10th inning to lift the Maple Leafs to a 3-2 win over the Guelph Royals in the Intercounty Baseball League on Sunday.

Joe Colamico had an RBI single in the sixth inning and Rob Butler tied the game with a solo homer in the eighth.

Doug Dimma (1-0) earned the win after allowing one run in three innings of relief for starter Paul Spoljaric, who struck out nine batters and gave up one run and one hit in five innings.

Ryan Armstrong (0-1) took the loss for Guelph after giving up a pair of runs in 3 1/3 innings of relief.

Jamie Pogue hit a solo homer in the second inning and Rob Dinwoodie stroked a run-scoring double in the eighth.

The home opener for the Hamilton Cardinals against the Brantford Red Sox was postponed due to wet field conditions. A make-up date will be announced in the near future.
