Hamilton Cardinals 5, Barrie Baycats 3
In Barrie, Mark McDonald hit a bases-clearing double and then scored the winning run to give the Hamilton Cardinals a 5-3 win over the Barrie Baycats in one of two games in the Intercounty Baseball League on Saturday.
Andy Steeds tripled to drive in McDonald and cap a five-run first inning for Hamilton.
Mark Schuurman (1-0) allowed three runs - two earned - and 10 hits in seven innings for the win and Pat Lynch held Barrie to one hit over the final two innings for his first save.
Angus Roy (4-4) gave up five runs - two earned - and eight hits in a complete-game effort for Barrie.
David Latour was four-for-four with a double and scored a run and Jonathan Baksh had two hits and scored in the loss.

Kitchener Panthers 6, Guelph Royals 3
In Guelph, Luke Baker had three hits and drove in two runs to help the Kitchener Panthers double the Guelph Royals 6-3.
Joel Scott (4-2) was the winner after pitching 6 1/3 scoreless innings. The win moved Kitchener into a tie with Guelph for third in the IBL standings.
Ryan Armstrong (1-3) allowed five runs - four earned - and seven hits in four innings and Frank Hare had two hits and drove in a run in the eighth inning for Guelph.
