Brantford Red Sox 5, London Majors 4

In London, Len Elias had two hits, including a double, and singled home the winning run in the top of the ninth inning to lift the Brantford Red Sox to a 5-4 win over the London Majors in the Intercounty Baseball League on Monday.

Dave Parsons singled and then scored the winning run while Raul Borjas had two hits, including a solo homer, and Eric Wolfe tripled and scored a run for Brantford.

Mark Ferguson (4-0) was the winner after pitching 1 2/3 scoreless innings of relief after starter Stefan Strecker allowed four runs and eight hits in 7 1/3 innings.

Kevin Virtue was three-for-four with an RBI and Pete Babcock added a two-run double for London.

Mike Mitro (3-4) took the loss after giving up two runs and four hits in 1 1/3 innings of relief for Tom VanKasteren, who surrendered three runs and eight hits in 6 2/3 innings.
