Kitchener Panthers 9, Hamilton Cardinals 5

In Hamilton, Jeff Pietraszko tripled and drove in two runs to pace the Kitchener Panthers to a 9-5 win over the Hamilton Cardinals in the Intercounty Baseball League on Wednesday.

Luke Baker singled and drove in a run and Brian Carter added three singles and two runs in the win.

Ian Hagan (1-1) allowed five runs, including three earned, and 14 hits in six innings for the win.

Craig Hawkins (2-3) took the loss after giving up six runs - five earned - and six hits in 4 1/3 innings. Bill Lawrence finished the game with 4 2/3 innings of relief.

Jon McGinn had two hits, including a double, and P.J. McDonald had three hits and scored two runs for Hamilton.
