London ties up the IBL Championship Series
London Majors 5, Guelph Royals 4 (11 innings)
In London, Jeremy Hudson singled home the winning run with two out in the 11th inning to lift the London Majors to a 5-4 win over the Guelph Royals in the Intercounty Baseball League Championship Series on Thursday. The series is tied at one game each with Game 3 scheduled for Saturday in Guelph.
Hudson had four hits, including a pair of doubles, and scored two runs for London, while Kevin Virtue singled and drove in two runs and Steve Charles added a two-run double in the win.
Virtue (2-0) picked up the win with 3 1/3 scoreless innings of relief after starter Tom VanKasteren allowed four runs and six hits in 7 2/3 innings.
Aaron Little (0-1) gave up the winning run and four hits in 3 1/3 innings. Guelph starter Brian Dikdan allowed four runs - three earned - and four hits in 7 1/3 innings.
Kyle Leon hit a two-run homer that gave Guelph a 4-2 lead in the eighth inning. Jamie Pogue doubled and drove in a run and Sean Reilly added a double and scored a run.
