The Barrie Baycats are pleased to announce that Jeff Sharpe will be taking over the Managers position for the 2005 season.

Former Baycats manager Nick Owen retired in the off season, leaving a big hole for the Baycats to fill. With a great season to build on it was imperative that the Baycats find the right man for the job, and when the opportunity arose Jeff Sharpe stepped up and offered his services to the Baycats.

Perhaps the best part about Jeff being the Baycats manager is the fact that all of our player, and our fans, are already familiar with Jeff as he patrolled 1st base as a coach for the Baycats last season.

ABOUT JEFF SHARPE
Jeff has had an extensive career playing minor baseball in the Ajax-Oshawa area. He started his coaching career with the Ajax Pee Wee and Midget teams, taking the Midgets to a 3rd place finish in the 2000 Canadian Eliminations. In 2001 Jeff was the manager of the very successful Ontario Under 18 Team. Sharpe is very familiar with the Intercounty League and it's players. He coached 1st base last year for the Baycats and is currently running a baseball camp in Toronto with Rick Johnson (Brantford Red Sox) and our very own Ryan Davis.

Sharpe brings a strong influence in the recruiting of players for the Baycats. He has coached Brad Bissell, Ian Prescott, and David Latour in past years. His knowledge of the Junior ranks should help greatly in our recruitment of players, and his understanding of the game will help make the Baycats a solid on-field presence.

Jeff lives in Barrie, and is employed by JIT in Purchasing and Inventory Control.
