Oshawa could manage just four singles at the plate in the game. Starter Jamaal Joseph (0-2) went eight innings and took the loss, giving up all three Hamilton runs.

Kevin Foley knocked in Damon Topolie with the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning as Toronto earned the doubleheader sweep of visiting London. Sounds like a routine play, but Foley swung on a pitch meant to be ball four of an intentional walk attempt by the Majors. Topolie, Gamin Teague and Jason Corrigale had two hits each to lead the Maple Leafs. Reliever Jon Lockwood (4-0) picked up the win with a near-perfect three and two-thirds innings. He didnt give up a hit and struck out seven of the twelve batters he faced. A walk was the only mistake made by Lockwood. Majors starter Jared Franke (1-3) took the loss, giving up six runs (5 earned) on eight hits over seven and a third innings. Tim Hinchcliffe led London at the plate with a pair of hits.

Storm starter Darby Parsons (1-0) went the distance to earn the win for the visitors as they took game one of the doubleheader by a 5-0 margin. Parsons gave up one run on six hits while striking out two and walking none. Kris Kewley provided more than enough offense with a grand slam home run (1) in the top of the fifth inning. Andrew Mercier chipped in with a double and a single for the winners. Waterloo starter Justin Divell (1-3) took the loss, giving up five runs on six hits over six innings of work. He walked five and struck out one. Greg Stefans RBI-single accounted for the lone Tigers run.

Panthers Take Over Role As Leagues Hottest Team

	   1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 R H E
Guelph 0 2 0 0 4 0 1 0 0 7 12 2
Kitchener 3 0 0 0 0 3 1 1 x 8 15 2
The Panthers have now become the hottest team in the Inter-County Major Baseball League after stopping the Royals win streak at seven games. Kitchener won their sixth in a row, 8-7 over visiting Guelph in an entertaining game at Jack Couch Park. Craig Stroh knocked in Ben Kangas with an RBI-single in the bottom of the eighth inning to move the Panthers up to the .500 mark. The Royals had men at second and third with one out in the top of the ninth, but after walking Kevin Treichel intentionally, winning pitcher Mike Olides (4-2) got Nathan Grant to hit into a game-ending 4-6-3 double-play. Olides threw two innings of shutout ball to pick up the victory. Andy Pietraszko led Kitchener with a two-run home run in the sixth and a solo blast (3,4) to leadoff the bottom of the first. Jeff McDonald went 3 for 3 with a walk, stolen base and and RBI while Luke Baker was 2 for 4 with a solo home run (4) in the first inning. Guelphs Jason Borghese belted a line-drive grand slam home run in the fifth inning off Kitchener starter Joel Scott who had walked three straight batters. Royals Player-Manager Kevin Hinton was 3 for 5 and is now just one hit away from 500 in his illustrious Inter-County Major career. Treichel hit a two-run home run in the second while Kyle Leon added a solo shot in the seventh, his second in as many nights
