Toronto 1 0 1 1 3 1 0 2 x 9 11 1
It took three hours and fifty-seven minutes but the Maple Leafs edged the visiting Panthers 9-8 to finish the home portion of their season at 18 and 0. Its believed to be the first unblemished home record in Intercounty Major history. Mike Grieves two-RBI double in the bottom of the eighth broke a 7-all tie and proved to be the difference in the game. Gamin Teague added four hits and scored twice while Rob Patterson and Sean Travers contributed two hits each. Chad Ertel picked up the win with three innings of relief. He gave up one earned run on two hits while striking out five and walking three.
Kitchener reliever Chris Currie took the loss giving up two runs, neither of which was earned, on three hits in one complete inning. Randy Curran led the Panthers attack with a three-run home run in the top of the fifth, a blast that at that time gave Kitchener a 6-3 lead. Andy Pietraszko and Luke Baker added two hits each.
The two teams combined for twenty-three bases on balls in the game.
If Kitchener defeats Barrie on Tuesday night they will clinch fourth place. If the Baycats win they will finish fourth even if they lose their final game against Hamilton because of a better head to head record with the Panthers.
