Cardinals Exploded For Fifteen Runs, Sweep Storm

The Cardinals pounded out twenty hits as they hammered the visiting Storm and swept the quarterfinal series in three games.
Tom Robertson led the Hamilton attack scoring three times and adding three singles and three RBI�s. Jeremy Walker stroked three singles and had four RBI�s while Shayne Ridley had a double, two singles and three RBI�s. Jeff Martin was hit by a pitch twice, walked once, added a double, single and scored three runs. Cardinals� starter Justin Bartkiewicz picked up the win, giving up three earned runs on six hits in five innings. He struck out two and walked two. Greg Hawkins came on to throw the final four innings, and allowed only two hits while striking out three.
St. Thomas starter Darby Parsons was tagged for eight earned runs on six hits in just three innings. He struck out one and walked three. Peter Babcock led the Storm at the plate with two singles and an RBI. Jeremy Hudson added an RBI-double.
Hamilton now has at least a few days off to prepare for their semi-final series against an undetermined opponent.
Baycats Offense Leads Them To Victory Again

The Baycats again showed tremendous pop in their bats as they downed the hometown Panthers 9-5 top take a 2-0 lead in their best of five quarterfinal series. Jared McCord led the Baycats with a pair of home runs and four RBI�s. David Latour added two hits and a pair of RBI�s while Cory Torchan and Liam O�Brien each hit solo home runs. Brad Bissell earned the win, allowing three earned runs on thirteen hits while striking out five and walking three. Angus Roy retired the final six Panthers of the game, fanning four.
For Kitchener Jeff Pietraszko went 4 for 5 with a three-run home run in the seventh inning. Mark Johnston added three hits in a losing cause. Adam Hornastaj took the loss, giving up six earned runs on seven hits in two and a third innings. Tom Bertic went the rest of the way and allowed three hits, two of those were McCord home runs and the other was an infield single. Bertic held the Baycats hitless after the fifth inning.
The Baycats have the chance to complete the sweep of the two time defending champions at home on Tuesday night. Barrie has outscored Kitchener 20 to 9 in two games.
