Barrie Baycats 4, Guelph Royals 2

In Barrie, James Foster had belted three hits, including an RBI single that brought in the winning run in the sixth inning to give the Baycats a 4-2 win over the Guelph Royals.

Matt Miller (2-1) gave up two unearned runs and three hits in 7 1/3 innings and Adam Hawes pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings of relief for his first save.

Armand Sidhu had a pair of hits, including a double, and drove in a run in the win.

Kris Kewley (1-1) gave up four runs - two earned - and eight hits in six innings.

Toronto Maple Leafs 10, Waterloo Tigers 2

In Toronto, Tyler Johnstone drove in five runs to pace the Maple Leafs to a 10-2 win over the Waterloo Tigers.

Johnstone had a two-run double in the second inning, a two-run single in the third and an RBI single in the sixth.

Paul Spoljaric (8-0) struck out eight batters in six innings. He gave up two runs and three hits and walked one batter.

Kyle Nicoletti (0-5) allowed eight runs - six earned - and seven hits in 2 1/3 innings.

Mike Robertson smacked an RBI single in the second inning for Waterloo.

London Majors 9, St. Thomas Storm 2

In St. Thomas, Fielding Lewis homered and drove in two runs to help the London Majors to a 9-2 win over the Storm.

Chris Robinson added a single and double and Sean McGregor singled home the winning run in the second inning.

Yoel Fernandez (4-0) gave up two runs - one unearned - and five hits in seven innings for the win.

Aaron Owen (0-3) allowed six runs, including three unearned, and eight hits in seven innings and Darby Parsons had a pair of singles and drove in a run for St. Thomas.

Kitchener Panthers 20, Brantford Red Sox 1

In Kitchener, Kyle Whitson crushed a grand slam in the third inning to power the Panthers to a 20-1 win over the Brantford Red Sox.

Adam Hornostaj (4-2) allowed one run and four hits in five innings for the win.

Randy Curran, who was a first team all-star last year, had a pair of hits and drove in two runs in his season debut for Kitchener. Joel Scott was four-for-five and drove in five runs in the win.

Mike McFadden (1-2) gave up nine runs and six hits in 2 1/3 innings. Steve Charles knocked a pair of hits and drove in a run in the fifth inning.
