Dogers Start Strong, Maple Leafs Finish Big

The expansion Dodgers got the start they wanted against the mighty Maple Leafs, but a late Toronto surge gave them the victory at Christie Pits. Rob Butler led the Maple Leafs with a two-run home run and an RBI double while brother Rich added two hits, including an RBI double. Sean Travers chipped in with three hits. Chris Rauth earned the win with three innings of hitless relief. He struck out five and walked none. Darryl Jennings took the loss in relief, giving up two unearned runs on no hits and five walks. He struck out three in his three innings of work.

Reid's Arm Leads Red Sox Over Storm

Ryan Reid threw six innings of one-hit ball to lead the Red Sox to their second win in as many games. Reid struck out five and walked three, and the only hit he surrendered was a flare single in the fifth inning. Former London Major Steve Charles led Brantford with a double and two singles while Dan Baribeau added a double and a single. St. Thomas starter Kris Kewley took the loss, giving up five runs on eight hits in three and a third innings. He struck out two and walked two.
