Kitchener Panthers Announce New Manager
The Kitchener Panthers are pleased to announce the appointment of Jack Rice to the position of Field Manager for the upcoming 2005 Inter-County baseball League season. Jack comes to the Panthers from the Barrie Baycats where he spent the 2004 season as third base coach.
Jack is no stranger to the role of leadership stated new Panther General Manager Steve Scagnetti. Jack is a professional educator; he has performed as both coach and manager for Team Ontario and the Ontario Blue Jays. Jack also has ties to the Atlanta Braves as a regional advanced scout, proving he has a keen eye for talent.
Panther President Darryl Rutherford announced the hiring of Rice at the annual general meeting of the Kitchener Panthers on January 26, 2005. Rutherford said, Having coached against Kitchener last season, Jack is fully aware of our strong talent base and potential. With Jacks hiring, coupled with some key player acquisitions during the off season, we are in good shape to bring IBL Championship back to Kitchener.
